-> I have two freon bottles here (both older with the steel plug in the
-> bottom) I was also wondering if a propane bottle would be okay. I can
-> get new ones on sale al Wallmart for about $10 or so. Any idea what
-> these are rated at?
The old "blowout plug" model is safe enough, and literally hundreds of
them are doing service as portable air tanks. The Wal Mart tanks are
probably a REAL bargain as you simply cannot let that stuff get OUT when
you don't want it out. Whatever they're rated at is ENOUGH! The vapor
pressure of propane at 100 degrees is a LOT more than you need in your
air system.
-> I figured to build an enclosure beside the garage (on the far of
-> everything).
I do that anyway for noise considerations, but when I pump one up to
test it's explosive tendancies I put it WAY out in the field and read
the guage with binoculars!
-> Bomb" story and while it was a bit funny (only cause no one was
-> hurt),
You ought to have heard "Jerry" tell it!
-> have a hard time talking my way out of shooting down a B-2 bomber
-> with a hot water heater (they over fly here on a regular basis).
Yep! They'd NEVER believe it!
-> Heck your not that old....
Nope! But I trust my welding better than most folks'!
