G'day Denise,

DW> I'm told that pIRCh is pretty hoopy with
DW> sound capabilites and what not
DW> I must grab myself a copy and set it up.

The latest Mirc had these capabilities too, not that I could use them.

DW> GG> Oh yes, that's for sure. But do jump in and get your feet
DW> GG> wet. Lurking in IRC is silly.
 DW>
DW> Yep, thats me, boots and all, I just found a channel and jumped,
DW> of course the fact that I had a ready made channel to go into,
DW> #ltuae_oz made it easier, and that was full of friends

I made my own. #QWKRR I start out there so I can do stupid things
like /whois (on myself) just to see that my configs are set right.
Then I venture out. I haven't been able to get ANY Australian channels
though. If I ever get the chance, I'll visit #ltuae_oz, for sure.

 DW> DW> #aussies is a nice friendly one
 DW> DW> #newuser is also ok
 DW>
DW> GG> These are fairly tame... a good start.
 DW>
DW> well lets not send em off to #boy_torture just yet

Oh, YNOT?

DW> GG> Some people can get their tititlation
DW> GG> (sp) just from reading the
DW> GG> channel names and never even joining any.
 DW>
DW> I have a read of teh list available to me and it's certainly
 DW> informative.

You see more of the actual titles too... in IRC II you only get about
20 characters or so... and for some that isn't quite enough.

Then again... some I'd rather not see, and Mirc at least has that well
in hand too. Pity IRC II doesn't because that's what I'm writing
about currently.

DW> GG> Windows users have a definite advantage over Unix text IRC
DW> GG> users. You can obscure your Email address and keep prying
DW> GG> eyes from knowing who you really are, which means you can go
DW> GG> in, get a nice root and get out without any worries over Net
 DW> GG> perverts.
 DW>
DW> Yep. (ahem not that *I* would know about that) *grin*

Oh, you mean you were the one with the giant feather this weekend? ;-)

DW> GG> Netsex: tension relief of the 90's. But it takes longer.
 DW>
DW> good way of spending an hour or so in priv chat with a like minded
 DW> person

Good way to waste an hour or so too, but that's beside the point.

Cheers,
Gaelyne
