| subject: | OS/2 API`s |
PP> You do realize that the Red Book states that the only PP> official method of communicating with the console in a PP> command-line OS/2 program is stdin/stdout? That is, PP> KEY/MOU/VIO will never be 32-bit and may not even function PP> if OS/2 1.x support is dropped in the future?` The red book is old info -- IBM has embraced the Vio api for Power PC warp, and even released a 32bit Vio dll for Intel warp (it is somewhere on the devcon -- but is nothing more than a wrapper around the system 16bit vio calls at this time). And, as I have stated before, if IBM for some reason drops the Vio api, someone will write one; it'd be easy. --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: Sol 3 * Toronto * V.32 * (905)858-8488 (1:259/414) SEEN-BY: 50/99 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 259/414 400 99 250/99 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
