This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

The large tables option quadruples the limit from 16K messages per =
folder to 64K. See =
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=3Dkb;en-us;197430.

I fixed it. Stupid problem, simple solution. The problem is noted in =
the
Knowledge base. Outlook 2000 has a limit on the number of messages in =
the
SENT folder (an probably all of them) of 16383 messages. Well, this =
person
had NEVER cleaned his out (which also explained the 5-7 minute startup =
time
for Outlook). When the Sent folder is full, there is no place for the =
mail
from the outbox to be moved to. Manually doing that also created an =
error.
Trying to move files to the DELETED items folder also failed, as that =
folder
also had 16383 message in it as well.

After asking him why he had every email from the start of when he came =
to
work there, as well as all the deleted items still there, he said he =
never
looked at the message total at the bottom of the screen. Cleaned out =
his
folders, and all was well again.

There is an option in the folder properties/advanced settings to =
double
that, but the real solution is to do some housecleaning. This is also =
on a
PII 350 with 128 meg of ram.
