While Houston doesn't get too DP> terribly hot, it's pretty humid. I've survied 117F heat waves in Sac a DP> time or two. And it's a DRY heat :P I think I'd rather have a dry heat vs. 100F and 98% humidity, feels like your going to choke to death on the humidity and smog durring the summer. DP> The other thing is that in California, summers pretty much meant clear DP> skies and warm weather. Here in Houston, you can't ever plan a summer DP> pool party because you just KNOW It's gonna rain. I don't mind rain so much, it's the fact that we can't have normal rain, it's gotta be like 4-10 inches and it has to come with hail and tornado's and stuff. Rain is fine when it rains for maybe a hour and then stops. DP> My first year here, it rained on the 4th of July! It NEVER does that DP> in California! It's done that pretty much every year that I can remember. DP> The wierd thing is that it also snows on Christmas Eve in Houston. It DP> NEVER did that in California (unless you were in the Sierras). I hear it snowed last christmas, but I was up north in Ohio at the time, other than that I honestly have seen real snow here since around 1982 or so. Once in a while you'll get a little flurry type thing but usually it melts by the time it hits the ground. Or if it's really "bad" according to Houston standards it'll turn the top layer of grass white for a few hours.. heh.. David Stumpf ...
