I grew up in Humble just down the road from you, I'm out on the NW
side near Jersey Village these days though.

I think I'd rather have a dry heat vs. 100F and 98% humidity, feels like
your going to choke to death on the humidity and smog durring the summer.

I don't mind rain so much, it's the fact that we can't have normal rain,
it's gotta be like 4-10 inches and it has to come with hail and tornado's
and stuff.  Rain is fine when it rains for maybe a hour and then stops.

It's done that pretty much every year that I can remember.

I hear it snowed last christmas, but I was up north in Ohio at the time,
other than that I honestly have seen real snow here since around 1982 or
so.  Once in a while you'll get a little flurry type thing but usually
it melts by the time it hits the ground.  Or if it's really "bad" according
to Houston standards it'll turn the top layer of grass white for a few
hours.. heh..
