subject: Sharing a WFWG printer...

Hi Don,
DG> I'm new to this, so please be gentle. :-)
Ok, I'll only shout in lower case......;-)
DG> One of the things that I've noticed, is that the list
DG> of protocols available to WFWG is rather different from
DG> those which IBM Peer supports. Peer, when I tried to
DG> install it, was offering NetBIOS, or NetBIOS over
DG> TCP/IP. The WFWG machine allows NetBIOS over either IPX
 DG> or ODI.
There are 3 main areas to check -
 1. Use NETBIOS or NETBEUI as the protocol on ALL machines, NETBIOS over
TCP/IP is only needed if you are connecting 2 LANS together via a WAN
connection, and then things get interesting........;-) Get the one LAN going
first.
 2. Ensure the WORKGROUP name on the WFWG machines is the same as the LOCAL
DOMAIN name on the OS/2 machine.
 3. Make sure the MACHINE NAME is unique for each machine in the same
WORKGROUP/DOMAIN.
Lets see how that goes........pk.
