        These are obvious suggestions, but they might help.  Make sure there 
is a line at the end of the MAX.CTL that includes your FILEAREA.CTL (i.e. 
"Include F:\Max\Filearea.ctl").  Also, have you SILTed your changes?  Have 
you used FB on your filebases?  If these don't solve the problem, I suspect 
that we'll need a little more information.
