DT> Don't give up. I had to wait till my kids were grown to afford my
DT> first horse. I took my first riding lesson at Kettering about 20 to 30
DT> min from Landover. They had several arenas and the main trail was
DT> several miles long through some beautiful countryside.
I just started getting this echo. I've never been taught how to ride a horse,
but have ridden bareback and was told then that I had a natural seat. I
remember well when I was riding my uncle's horse he got the bit between his
teeth and jumped a small stream(three feet from bank to bank) I was able to
stay on his back while he jumped. It was my mom and aunt who had seen me
riding him when he jumped again over a trench my uncle had dug in his front
field, they said that I had a natural seat. Anyway I tried to call a local
riding academy here in Southern Maryland only to find out that they moved to
Hughsville. Going to have my husband find out if a woman who works at the
ame
hospital he does who breeds Morgans knows someone local who can teach me and
one of my daughters to ride horses. We have hopes of one day of having our
wn
horses. I've wanted one since I was a kid. I'ld love to get a registered
Paint.
I'll love to be able to also get a pony for my youngest to ride. I've got two
children both girls, one 15 and the other 2. The horse I rode at my uncles
farm was half Paint and half Shetland Pony.
