subject: Re: XP clients and Win2k Servers

From: John Beckett

Someone asked a question quite like this on the Compuserve winnt forum
recently. However, there were some crucial extra details. The person wanted
to study for W2000 certification. The advice to use W2000 Pro rather than
XP was simply so the person could concentrate on W2000 and learn the basic
concepts without the complications of the disconcerting differences between
XP and W2000. Plus other stuff like trying to administer a W2000 domain
from an XP computer. Simple, and essential for a real admin, but an
unnecessary complication for someone who is very new.
