DR>open it for output, print to it and close it. After that, I know
DR>this file is there so I open it for input. The problem is QB stops
DR>on the line where I open the file a second time with the message
DR>"File not found" before it even started the program.
3 ways that might help:
1 - Make sure the program is started from the directory where the file
    is supposed to be.
2 - Put a CHDIR at the beginning of the program to put it there.
    CHDIR "C:\mydir\mydata"
3 - Use the full pathname of where the file is supposed to be.
OPEN "C:\mydir\mydata\myfile" FOR INPUT AS #1
If you use another CHDIR in your program, the internal pointer will move
to the new directory path, where it will stay unless told to change,
even if the program ends. If you're still in QB when you re-start the
code, the pointer will be in the last place you left it.
... Any simple idea will be worded in the most complicated way
