Now, Eric ... I'm sure you've been told there are *no* stupid questions...

Anyway, if you're referring to the taglines (such as the one at the bottom
of this post), mine are put on automatically by my offline mail reader.
Maybe you don't read your posts offline?  If you do, do you use OLX
(which I think is included in most versions of Qmodem ... I just do
an alt-m from my terminal screen.)
I also have an tagline program which captures (well, steals, actually :)
taglines from other people's posts and then deletes duplicates,
alphabetizes, etc.
If you use an offline reader, let me know which one and how you access it,
etc., and maybe I can help you get it set up.  I'm pretty new to all of
this, too, but that's one thing I've managed to get set up and working.  :)
