You can do the same thing in a text-only UNIX environment too (subject to
the IRC client you're using, of course); as I recall, ircII reads a few
environment variables called something like (a bit rusty here):
IRCNAME
IRCNICK
I seem to recall you could change both from within ircII, too. Cheers..
