| subject: | RE: Facts 15 |
You seem to be the only person left in fidonet who doesn't recognize Bob
Klahn's nonsense for what it is. To try to help you, here is a post-mortem
on a recent thread that he was unable to sustain. I will guide you through
some of his tactics, for your education. Briefly, in 1999 a Washington
insider named Cody Shearer was identified in the media as a person who had
tried to intimidate Kathleen Willey to keep quiet about Bill Clinton's
indiscretions. Pat Buchanan's brother Hank was subsequently arrested for
actions he took outside Shearer's house. Let's pick up with Klahn's final
retreat from the facts. Klahn insists that he "knows" that Buchanan
threatened to kill Shearer. His basis for that is that Cody Shearer said
so. I pointed out to him that Shearer did not WITNESS any such threats,
and that the people who actually WITNESSED what was said outside merely
said that when they confronted him he pointed a gun at them and told them
to walk away from him.
~> EC> That was Shearer's version, but he did not witness it
~> EC> himself and the actual statements made to the police by the
~> EC> actual witnesses and reported in the Washington Post are
~> EC> somewhat different: "According to authorities, Buchanan
~> EC> pulled a silver-colored revolver from his pocket, pointed
~> EC> the gun at the man and demanded that he walk off. The man
~> EC> complied. When the woman returned with her boyfriend,
~> EC> Buchanan pointed the gun at them and ordered them to walk
~> EC> away, the affidavit said. Authorities said Buchanan then
~> EC> ran to a parked 1996 Honda and drove off."
Klahn's only come-back?
~> Notice, no source, no link.
Notice the complete surrender of the point. In a subsequent post I even
made it more specific for him ("May 22, 1999 Washington Post") in addition
to telling him verbatim what the news story reported. He ignores that
source, ignores what the story said, ignores everything else of relevance,
and just waves a sentence-fragment white flag disguised as a response.
More to follow, in small and easily digested bits.
