Why couldn't you do it in space? There's no gravity in space, so once you put
something in motion it won't stop unless it hits something. I'm sure there's
a practical application there somewhere. And by the way, Nikola Tesla was
said to have made one, but never kept the blueprints around for some reason
or another.
