Actually, you may talk about any of these as they fall
into the category of progmetal which I, in a departure
from some previous moderators, am allowing. And that's an
        official moderator ruling.

CR> Robert Fripp, of all people, as the opening act. I was kind of
CR> curious, does he play old King Crimson stuff anymore

He does when he's playing with King Crimson, as on his
last couple of tours with that band, captured for
posterity on the King Crimson _B'Boom_ album recorded
live in Argentina. It's not a bad album but neither is it
a great departure from _Thrak_ so if you have one you
don't really need the other, IMO.

Anyway, if Fripp is listed as appearing solo it's very
likely he won't do any Crimso material but instead would
be doing ambient music of the Frippertronics type. He's
done some shows like that recently that supposedly are
very good *if you like that sort of thing* though if you
go expecting Crimso you might be very disappointed.

 CR> ....(ya know, Vai would
CR> actually be on topic, wouldn't he? He did play with Zappa!)

Yes, Vai is on topic because of playing with Zappa and
because of his first solo album and because of
sucessively smaller and smaller parts of each subsequent
        solo album.

                                Cheers,
                                Kenneth
