CTAN is the Comprehensive TeX Archives Network, i.e. the set of ftp servers
that mirror each other and offer the latest in TeX and its accessories,
both system independent stuff like TeX macro packages, and implementations
for certain machines and OSs like Dos (we still argue about this), OS/2,
Unix, Mac etc.

RSX is a replacement Dos Extender for the emx program that is required to
run emx+gcc-compiled programs under Dos if you want or have to use DPMI,
i.e. run such programs under Windows, together with emm386 etc.
