I'm not 100% sure if I have it right, but this (and the next few)

connect should be: &k2&m5s27=32, ie ARQ mode, V42 and LAPM disabled

(so it should attempt only MNP), compression enabled (which means

it will probably attempt MNP5 compression - isn't this syupposed to

be slightly less efficient than V42bis on precompressed files?)
