Steve Lingo wrote in a message to All: SL> Is there a utility that will let one run a windows program SL> under OS/2 Warp without actually using windows? If you have the source to the Windows program, there are some emulation mechanisms which can be used with limited success. Micrografx made a tool called "Mirrors" which would translate Win-16 API calls to the OS/2 API at run time, but this required relinking the program. IBM distributes the Developer API Extensions (DAPIE), which similarly allows translating most of the Win-32 API to the OS/2 API, but this also requires recompiling and relinking, and may require source modification. IBM also distributes One-Up's Source Migration and Analysis Toolkit (SMART), which reprocesses source code to partly automate translation of Windows programs to OS/2. -- Mike ---* Origin: N1BEE BBS +1 401 944 8498 V.34/V.FC/V.32bis/HST16.8 (1:323/107) SEEN-BY: 50/99 270/101 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 955 SEEN-BY: 712/407 515 517 628 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 323/107 170/400 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
