Nup.  While the areatag may have been better picked, the subject was still 
about computer viruses.
VIRUS originated (now lets see if I get this the right way around!) in Europe 
and the VIRUS_INFO conference originated as  Zone1's answer to the temerity 
of someone else starting a conference that wasn't in Zone1. :)

They were much more vocal - and organised. The Vx crowd was always looking 
for a forum to have their discussions and it never happened on any scale 
until NUKE_THEWORLD got going and then VIRUS_NFO. It seems getting one's own 
echo was always the answer and we told them that - often.
In the meanwhile, there was friction between the AV crowd and the Vx crowd in 
the two existant echoes.
