Some time ago, one of my newer thongs broke, so I bought a new pair
(different colour), and wore one of the new ones with the remaining older
one. I've never worn a matching pair again.

People frequently comment to me: "Your thongs are different!"
I reply: "Yes, one is a left thong, and one is a right thong."
They reply: "No, they're different colours!"
I reply: "That's right. Most thongs are white and some other colour."
And if they continue the conversation, I tell them the true story.
