Convicts are more sensitive to water conditions, then some other
cichlids. Make sure you do a 10% water change every week or so and try
to keep the water near 7.3pH.
Also, as with many cichlids, care most be taken when adding more of the
same type fish into the tank. Since convicts can be very territorial,
one may decide the whole tank is his and allow other type fish to live
in HIS tank, but heaven help a convict intruder, esp if it's smaller
them the one you have in the tank.
