subject: modem probs

CW> Was wondering if anyone knows what would cause `bad data

Corruption between your computer's serial port and the hard drive. Are you
SURE you hae CTS/RTS flow control enabled in the modem and terminal?

CW> Lately I seem to be getting heaps of them.
CW> I never use to get any, and my settings haven't changed.

What terminal program, modem, BBS, etc?

CW> Could it have something to do with telstra upgrading the phone
 CW> lines to fibre
 CW> optic?

They'd get BETTER in that case.

  Mea Culpa,
 Peter Deane
