Hi, I am a computer lab teacher.
The bad consequences, well there are many:
1. Wasting time on inappropriate use
2. Lost educational time due to poor planning
3. Students receiving inappropriate information
4. Frustrated teachers due to lack of access to technology
5. Money wasted
6. Students/teachers getting into trouble due to sexually suggestive 
materials received/sent either accidently or on purpose.
 
The good consequences, also many:
1. Good planning enables proper use of the computer as a tool
2. Students learn to integrate information into their studies
3. All subjects benefit from proper use of the computer to support curriculum
4. Students benefit from interactions with peers, teachers, and education 
resources from around the world.  In areas that are geographically and/or 
economically separated from civilization and the working world.
5. Teachers benefit from the interaction with their peers and learn more 
about teaching/learning.
6. The community benefits as the products of the schools (students) are more 
likely to be employable, thus raising the standard of living, etc..
