Probably not your link, if you are reading this message.
I can't speak for others, but I have jumped over to C++ and I suspect
that a lot of folks are doing that. Not that PowerBASIC is dead. I
paid for the compiler, and there are a lot of programs I wrote, and
I doubt I will convert them to C++. So, whatever software I have in
PB, I will maintain it in PB.
But C++ is where you have to be, if you want to support any of the
software that is in computer systems these days.
If you just program for yourself, and you are comfortable with PB,
and you are not limited by it - by all means, stay with it.
As for me, I ran into the ceiling too many times. 'C' is a far more
open platform, you can create classes of data-types and overload
operators to manipulate those data-types. Being a mid-level language,
you can do 'stuff' that was just too cumbersome with BASIC.
That's why I switched.
