Oh yes, I understand. :) I can think of three possibilities although I'm
sure there are more. The first would be to try IceEdit. I've never tried it
myself (with Maximus) but I've read where others have it running. Second, if
you want to try a text editor (instead of a BBS message editor), get the
following:
EMEDIT15.ZIP 63K 05-24-88 EMEDIT is an MS-DOS generic editor. Generic means
that it only uses standard MS-DOS
alls/interrupts
and makes no direct calls to the machine's BIOS
routines. It can not work properly unless
NSI.SYS
(or the equivalent) is installed.
This is somewhat old and is really a sort of forerunner of the QEdit editor.
It doesn't use direct screen writes nor does it take over the keyboard.
Third, I have:
VEDIT203.ZIP 40K 04-27-95 VEdit - The Visual Editor, version 2.03 - VEdit
s
an external message editor (door) which supports
virtually any BBS package including...
This is an external message editor that may work okay with Max. But... the
author is no longer in FidoNet and the program isn't supported, AFAIK. It is
rather easy to use from the user's standpoint.
