Hello;

For the past two weeks I've been having an absolute blast
playing with a new DOS web browser called Arachne. You can find it and
more info here":

http://www.naf.cz/arachne/

I'm not affiliated with the author in anyway, but if anyone
knows of a better DOS browser please let me know !

Arachne looks and feels like a Generation-X Netscape and
includes a PPP dialer, TCP/IP interface, POP mail client, ftp, gopher,
MPEG and WAV player, telnet and more. It only takes about 1.70 meg
installed.

But the beauty is that this thing will run on 8088/286/386/486
without Windows very well. I've tried it on the last three and the 486
ran like a Pentium !!! Did I mention that the complete software is
free ?

Since surplus 286-486's can be had for very cheap, this
promises to be the software that'll turn these into NC's ! (buzz
phrase for "network computers" which are supposed to be under $500 web
browsers). Schools and folks all over have outdated computers that
could now be turned into useful browsers.

Well, as they say: "try it, you'll like it". I'm posting this
simply because I'd like to see this software get a lot of publicity
and use, and see Netscape and Explorer take a hit (who wouldn't ?).
