  No it isn't.

  Look a little harder, and you'll find that _hread is a kludge for the
  benefit of poor Windows 16:16 programmers, since _lread cannot cross
  segment boundaries.

  Since _hread isn't necessary for 0:32 programming on Windows, I have no
  idea why you are even bothering with it.

  I'll repeat what I said in my last message :
