Excerpted from message dated 02-11-96, Mike Bilow to Murray Lesser
 (original subject: Color Syntax Highlighting):

MB> Rexx, in the latest issue of Dr Dobb's Journal (March 1996).

MB>Hey! I just realized something. Are you the Murray Lesser who
  >wrote the letter to the editor in this same issue?

Hi Mike--

The short answer is "yes." The longer answer is that the letter was
not intended for publication; it was supposed to have been forwarded to
the guy whose referenced letter I was answering. (He had asked me to
check his somewhat-convoluted algorithms, written in continuous prose
interpreter-BASIC, for correctness!) I discovered my [slightly editied]
letter had been published only because I am still getting issues of DDJ
as freebies; my subscription expired with the January issue and I didn't
renew.

Recently, too much of the DDJ content has been too specific to Win95
to be useful for someone who doesn't do Windows. Of course, now that my
subscription has expired, they publish more stuff of interest to me.
Usually a magazine publishes something especially interesting to me in
the last issue of my subscription, just to get me to renew . Waiting
until two issues after my subscription runs out and after I threw away
the "last renewal notice" is dirty pool!
