gn> Thank you for your request, but we do not have specific
gn> information on this lawsuit, although I do know that it has
gn> not been filed on Second Amendment grounds, here in the
 gn> Grassroots Division.
Doesn't this strike you as remarkably hypocritical and disingenuous
of the NRA, considering its claims that it is zealously acting to
protect our 2nd Amendment rights and the U.S. Supreme Court's
agreement that the 2nd Amendment protects the ownership of contemporary,
military firearms:
In the absence of any evidence tending to show that
possession or use of a "shotgun having a barrel of less
than eighteen inches in length" at this time has some
reasonable relationship to the preservation or efficiency
of a well regulated militia, we cannot say that the
Second Amendment guarantees the right to keep and bear
such an instrument. Certainly it is not within judicial
notice that this weapon is any part of the ordinary
military equipment or that its use could contribute to
     the common defense.

Do you have an e-mail address for your general counsel, or can
that office only be reached by snail mail?
Thank you for your attention,

There is nothing hypocritical, as our goal is to protect gun owners
rights. If that means challenging a law on grounds other than the
Second Amendment, because we feel that that might be the quickest way to
repeal it, then that is simply a matter of tactics.
As for contacting the Office of General Counsel, that can only be done
via U.S. Mail at this time.
Sincerely,
Anthony Roulette
