  As you suspect, it's all in SNIPPETS. There's a tutorial which includes 
some code entitled CRC.TXT. There are also separate implementations of 
various 16- and 32-bit CRC calculations in C (none of it is C++ specific). 
Check the SNIPPETS.NDX file for further details.
