| subject: | QWKRR probs. |
Hi Reece, RI> Its me again, This time I've got a clock that no longer keeps RI> time, it merely shows the thime that the RI> clock was set. I know your RI> going to tell me that it's the computer, It's the computer :-) RI> but incase it not I'll let you RI> know that I've tried some other progs. and I have both sound and RI> operating time piece. I know of course RI> that these may use a different RI> part of the machine so I you could narrow RI> it down for me, I can try to have it fixed. The C64/128 has two CIA timers. QWKRR uses both of them. CIA#1 is used for the timer during editing, CIA#2 is used for the real time clock. You didn't specify whether both clocks are not working or just one of them. Not all programs use the CIA timers.. they use the jiffy clock instead. There has been no other reports of either the clock or the timer not working with QWKRR, so it is safe to assume that QWKRR is not to blame. RI> The other prob. may be because of the above, Today when trying to RI> Reply to a message from Owen to you I RI> tried to Quote part of his text RI> (about garage sale owners of 64s) I CRSR RI> downed several line when when RI> an endless loop of the next few line began. I reset and booted up RI> again and tried again. Result, same thing. I've tried again with This problem occurs if you try to quote a line that has more that 160 characters. This would be evidenced by unusual word wrapping when reading. Generally the only messages that contain lines of this length come from the internet or USEnet echos. If it occurs with the fidonet echo's then check the settings on your mail door.. some of the newer doors have an option to not include carriage returns in the QWK packets. You must ensure that the CR's are always turned ON. RI> The fault was repeated on several different messages of varying RI> lengths although the press count was not done on all occasions. If the problem is caused be neither of the above, then the only chance of my possibly identfying and fixing the problem is with a sample mail packet. If I can't duplicate a problem then I can't fix it. RI> Could that be where the prob. is coming from? e.g. type of packer. NO. The packer is just that.. a packer... it is like the wrapping on a lolly.. it don't matter what colour it is, or what the writing on it says, the lolly will taste just the same anyway :-) Cheers Rod ___ QWKRR128 V4.3b [R] --- EzyQwk V1.10b1* Origin: WOW BBS - Commodore Suport, Sydney's West (3:713/888) SEEN-BY: 50/99 54/54 623/630 640/316 711/807 808 809 929 934 712/623 713/317 SEEN-BY: 713/700 805 888 714/906 @PATH: 713/888 54/54 711/808 809 934 |
