Hmmm, this happened to me the other day but I don't remember what steps
I took to fix it. I think keeping track of how many IDE drivers are
loaded, as each controller requires one. Only one driver loaded would
mean it missed something and 3 loaded would cause interference.
Sometimes this happens with a mix of pnp and ISA cards. Change the
appropriate entry in the bios PNP/PCI/IRQ tables to reflect which ISA
card hogs what irq. Incidentally, have you tried the Add New Equipment,
or Multimedia icons yet? Or the help diagnostics? BTW sometimes when win
asks to restart so that it can load the new devices answer NO and stop
it instead. Then turn off the computer if the softswitch didn't. I think
this way the mb pnp handler gets reset properly instead of through the
warm or cold boot. BTW some mb bios even have a reset feature so that
one can use DEL instead of power off.

... Half the work in debugging is making the other bugs work right.
