DD>Hello again Barbara, it seems your hands are always full. I would like it
Hi there,
DD>you could fax me a price list for your babies. I confess that its
I'll try to get around to it. I am still trying to figure out the fax
program on my computer. I have the price lists made up on the computer
but have not gotten the fax going yet. I also just bought an external
14.4/9600 fax modem for my laptop. I've been using a 2400 internal built
into the board of my laptop. This way I'll be fast enough to get
internet access. My friend is gonna make me up a website.
I may break down and buy a totally seperate fax machine to do business
with.
mostly DD>just to learn what they go for. I know what green cheeks,
Do you have or work for a pet shop too in Miami or thereabouts? We were
down in Ft Lauderdale the first of the week delivering birds.
various conures, DD>grays, blue golds, and scarlets go for down here in
You seem to be close on the prices. The green cheeks often go for $50 at
3 w/o, although I have gotten $65 and $75 at that age or older. Up here
Grays are going wholesale $500 or so, which is what my friends sold
their baby to another broker for.B&G's vary. I start at $550 on mine,
and report that they are much larger Bolivian subspecies and are also
Polyoma negative by serology. Mine are about 6 w/o now and as I need the
bucks I am still asking that. I have also been hearing the "I can get
them for $450" from brokers lately but I'll have a plethora of B&G's for
that kind of dough. Scarlets are going for between $800 and 1000, most
usually $900-1000 I think.
breeders sell at 3 weeks of age out DD>of the nest. They usually sell to
pet shops, which there are a lot of them DD>here. Too many... actually.
Green cheeks sell at 3 weeks for $50. Nandays DD>for $60. Peach fronts
That's average, on the green cheeks and nandays, the peach fronts also
going from $75-85. I got $85 each on mine this year. A friend gets $125
on hers.
for $60 to $75. Suns go for $150 - $175 (unsexed). DD>Congo garys as low
as $400. Blue & Goolds as low as $450. And Scarlets at DD>around $800.
Brokers buy Suns for $125-175 each. We sell ours for $175-225. Some
places give us $225 for them. You're right on the greys and others, we
just get what we can for them.
Other things are wierdly out of proportion on the scale. We get $100 for
White Eye Conures without much hassle, $155 for Red Throated Conures,
$125-150 for Blue crown conures, although I have a friend that gets
$175. Maroon Bellieds conures parallel green cheeks, unless you know you
have a hen and then she's worth more. Rainbow Lories are wholesaling I
think for about $125. We get $450 for our Mexican Redhead amazon babies
and $550 each for Yellow Crown or Blue Front Amazon chicks.
Quakers go for $50-65 bucks at three weeks around here. Tiels go for
$15-25 at three weeks and sometimes a little more when feathered/3
feedings or less. One place pays me $25 and $35 and I am thrilled.
Brown throated conures go for about the same as green cheeks and half
moons parallel peachfronts. Dusky Conures go for about $100 each also.
Many lovebird prices parallel tiels, unless you specialize in wierd
colors/mutations.
I am brain-fried and tired of telling Ed to get the TV off the
wrestling program. I hope this helps and when I can I will send you a
price list.
Well, this is what I've seen. Ohh, I almost forgot, love birds DD>and
tiels from $20 to $30 if they are common, even lutinos. These are prices
DD>that I have seen. It does not mean that all breeders sell at these
prices. DD>Some actually want way too much. Once a lady said $2000 for a
proven pair of DD>sun conures. She said " With two clutches you get your
That's ludicrous! I paid $2600 for my B&G's with cage and box, as they
had a rep for 3 babies 3 times a year. Last year we got 4 and 2. This
year we got 2 the first clutch. But I do know in the past they have had
3 chicks,3 X/year. I knew the previous owners.
money back"...yea DD>right. Well any feedback will help my understanding
of different prices in DD>different places. Anyone is welcome to fax me
a list with species, DD>wholesale, and retail prices at 305-362-1052.
This is my private fax line to DD>wich no one has access. One question
Saved it to file...
Barbara, Do you keep your Quakers in a DD>flight or in pairs. If in a
flight? How big and how many pairs ?
I put bonded pairs in a flight. Has four pair in a 4ftW X 8ftH X 6 ft
(or 8 ft???) long flight. Just pulled 2 babies outta a nest, still
3 more in the nest, with more infertile eggs in one nest and fertile
eggs in another nest. The 4th pair are pretty old. One of them is
my pet Bozo's father, and Bo is about 7 or 8 now.
TTYL,
Barbara
