| subject: | Cable to Transfer from 1541 to IBM PC Parallel |
RA>I have successfully made up te cable that works with X1541 (a far RA>superior program to the other transfer program!). It worked, but jeez RA>- it's slow! :( RA>It would be faster to transfer the files using a null modem cable and 2 RA>terminal programs!! RA>Of course, an even better way to move files between your 64 and PC is RA>to get 64NET! :)) Its good to hear that the cable works when made properly. I don't mind that it is slow, I am willing to wait patiently on the transfers. My own attempts at making the cable have been frustrating and unsuccessful, I am wondering if you are willing to loan your working cable, make another working cable (I would obviously reimburse you for your outlays) or if you don't require your cable anymore sell me the existing one. If you are interested, please leave me a private message with a contact number or address on Way Out West BBS (02) 6288888 or 500cc Formula One BBS (02) 5504317. P.S. Can modems still be purchased for C64's? If so where and what cables, terminal programs would I need? P.P.S. What is 64net (network for C64?) and what hardware and software do you need to set it up and where can these be obtained.
