Most of the messages are "respond to Bob" posts.  They address things he
has posted in his echoes, where he is free to say anything while imposing
tight controls on the responses that can be made to him in those echoes.

If you also lurk in All-Politics (#232) you will see that he uses it as his
"respond to Vern and Stan and Tim and Jeff and Earl and so on" echo where
he posts responses to things from other echoes.  Recently some of his
targets JOINED him there, and he has begun banning them and insisting that
they go ELSEWHERE to respond to what he says about them THERE in his echo.
 Given some of his complaints to you in the past, you will appreciate the
irony.

At the moment there is a lull in political discussion, partly because it is
fragmented among at least seven different echoes for it.  At one time there
was only one, and it had no personal attacks allowed.  It was invaded by a
group from "holysmoke," leading to a lot of history that would just bore
you.  And now there are many, which leads to cross-posting and
cross-responding.  Dan Ceppa's echo is pretty much dead.  Gary Braswell's
is down in volume, and mostly involves people who agree with each other. 
Bob Ackley is almost single-handedly keeping "debate" going as far as
actual discussion of political issues.  Several people migrated to
"all-politics" until Klahn began running them off.  Right now they seem to
be pausing temporarily and waiting to see what happens next.

Ross Cassell suggested "crossfire" as the next general gathering place for
political discussion, as it has been virtually dead for the last several
months.  Maybe people will relocate there for a while.  But Klahn won't. 
Ross has the same rule there that I have here about hypocritical moderators
following THEIR OWN rules.  Klahn refuses to follow his own rules, and he
considers any rule of that type to be "echo sabotage."  That was his bogus
excuse to get me out of his "debate" echo, where I was arguing about
various political subjects on his turf and following all of his rules
(including rules on no personal attacks).  His ego just couldn't take it.
