| subject: | PCMCIa cards needed |
I have a need for a couple of oddball PCMCIA cards. and I'm hoping someone here can point me at ones that fit the bill. I need an ethernet card that is NE2000 compatible *or* has drivers for Win CE 2.x. I also need a 802.11b wireless card that's got Win CE 2.x drivers. I know that the ethernet cards exist. They are just hard to track down. the wireless cards are a "maybe" situation. Web searches turn up some possibles, but nothing definite enough for me to want to spend money without more info. As for why I need them, I've got a handheld computer (Philips Velo 1) with a PCMCIA adapter. It runs Win CE 2.1. Which has built in support for NE2000 compatible ethernet cards. A blind friend has a BrailleNote, which runs Win CE 2.1 or 2.2 (I forget which). It has a PCMCIA slot. We'd both prefer to run ActiveSynch (and web browsing and a host of other things) over ethernet rather than a serial cable. Being able to use a wireless card would be a bonus. Oh yeah, if any of you has one of the (rather ancient) PCMCIA VGA cards, I'd be interested in buying or at least *borrowing* it, as in theory my handheld will work with one. We'd also love to see if the Braillenote would work with it (that would be truly weird) --- FMailX 1.60* Origin: Shadowgard (1:105/50) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 105/50 360 106/2000 633/267 |
