subject: Borland C++ 4.0

    I have been intrested in strating to learn programming. I did take BACIC
quite a few years back, but don't remember much. Anyway, I picked up Borland
C++ 4.0 for DOS, Windows, and Windows NT, but it did not have any books with
it. (only cost me $5.00) Then I came across a whole package of Borland C++
3.1 books shrink wrapped for $2.50. So, my questions are, is 4.0 or for that
matter, Borland a good place to start? How much of a diffrence is there
between 4.0 and 3.1, will the books be close enfough to the software so I can
muddle thru it myself? And, as I mostly use OS/2, how much of this
transulates to OS/2 platform, or for that matter, unix and unix type OpSys?
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes on this challange to educate me :-)
