Exactly! There never was a technical need for zones and it was implemented
badly anyway. As for maintainig the nodelist, we never needed zones either.
Plus thet we never needed that many hierarchical levels of organisation.

It was a bad idea, all it ever got us was zone wars.

Indeed. Unfortunately we Fidoians seem have this bad habit of having great
difficulty with dropping bad ideas. There are always a few who insist on
hanging on to it....
