Replying to a message of Cindy Haglund to Bob Ackley: CH>> Makes sense because blood can be kept just so long. Must be there's CH>> not a big need for it in your area. BA>> They don't want mine, either. And they seem to be desperate for BA>> blood, of any type. Two reasons they don't want mine: (1) I'm a BA>> cancer survivor, and (2) the soup of chemicals and preservatives CH> They screen for a lot of things now nut just type. There's that CH> cytoplasmic virus now I read of online recently. Never heard of that CH> one before but it tends to prefer O negative blood; lower acidity I CH> guess.. IIRC what the article said. BA>> that's in it, I take six BA>> prescription pills every day (diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol - BA>> and the real deal killer - Plavix, a blood thinner). CH> They don't want to have the drugs in the blood to give someone else. CH> Not all drugs 'clear out' completely between doses? Nope. Plavix, for instance, takes about two weeks after the last dose before it's considered to be gone. And it's a one-a-day pill. Note that they also don't want blood from cancer survivors (or cancer patients). Presumably due to fear of spreading the problem - although mine was surgically removed 11.5 years ago and there's been no trace of recurrence since. The presence of a prostate gland is detectable by a blood test, and while they won't say that my PSA is zero, they will say that it's "not detectable within the limits of the test." --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:2905/3) SEEN-BY: 633/267 @PATH: 2905/3 14/0 5 140/1 123/500 379/1 633/267 |
