Ouch. So he'd not been compiling to current nodelist either?

Back in times when I had lots of nodes to deal with (RC13 times) I didnt
have ¨nor see a need for an ION region or even an ION net. I did make some
'odd' ¨placements inside the region due to connectivity type and authorize
several out ¨of region listings for technical issues (mostly, 1 or 2 were
political) but i ¨never had an NC I could track that didnt at least keep
pretty current with the ¨nodelist updates even if once in a 'blue moon'
they were a week behind.

Key point though is you didnt replace him at all. He quit and now you are
in ¨damage control over it (or have finished that phase hopefully but I
know it can ¨take a bit of time for that).
