JC> Or Italians, or Poles, or Swedes, or Japanese...
SB> True! Having an Italian husband, I can assure you that Italian
SB> culture is *very* important to some Italians.
Or Germans. :)
Since coming to the States my brother has been actively involved in
keeping his German heritage/culture alive in his mind and in his home.
His wife is also from Germany and they have a son together to whom
they try to pass on this culture. I didn't feel the need to do that
with my children. He has also stayed active in German clubs and
organizations. I don't feel the desire to join clubs, German or
otherwise.
I think it's interesting how two people from the same family can be
so different. I think my way is right for me, and his way is right
for him, and I'd *spit nails* if anybody tried to tell either of us
we had to do it any differently.
(Just thought I'd stick in my two cents worth.) :)
