One idea would be to have Binkley "lean" the com port from the
PPP controlling program (PPP.exe) and then communicate it back when a
caller wants to use PPP.

But IBM did not document the internals of communication between PPP.exe and
PPPterm.exe (what pipes, queues. semaphores are used?).
