Do you know for a fact that none of that crew volunteered for that overseas
tour or are you just trying to sell your own slant on things as the gospel
truth?  You might just be right about them not wanting to be there, but I

don't know that that's true, and I doubt that you do either.
As far as all Americans coming home is concerned, you're into geopolitics
there, and if you're satisfied with our nation being considered an 
uninterested
pushover by every second or third rate country in the world with an agenda of
self-interest. that may just be the way to go.  On the other hand, if you see 
a
need to influence international events and affairs, there's no better way 
than 
being on scene with enough clout to make the world's international bullies
think twice before they start pushing anybody around.
That may sound a little pedantic, but I don't think your suggestion would do 
us
any more good than the "America First" movement of the thirty's did.
