G'day Rod,
Its me again, This time I've got a clock that no longer keeps
time, it merely shows the thime that the clock was set. I know your
going to tell me that it's the computer, but incase it not I'll let you
know that I've tried some other progs. and I have both sound and
operating time piece. I know of course that these may use a different
part of the machine so I you could narrow it down for me, I can try to
have it fixed.
The other prob. may be because of the above, Today when trying to
Reply to a message from Owen to you I tried to Quote part of his text
(about garage sale owners of 64s) I CRSR downed several line when when
an endless loop of the next few line began. I reset and booted up
again and tried again. Result, same thing. I've tried again with
other messages and with the modem and REU unplugged, (tested after each
was removed), result, same thing. I wasn't able to reproduce the
effect with a message of approx 25 lines (although I did CRSR right
through it several times)
I then tried on a message of 43 lines and it required 12 presses till a
momentry blip of 2 lines the a normal press for 1 line. press 14 was
the same as 12 then normal operation till press 31 when the endless
loop occured.
The fault was repeated on several different messages of varying
lengths although the press count was not done on all occasions.
The QWK packet was from GEOZ and a previous QWK I was looking at and
used the REP and Quote on without trouble today was from Talisman.
Could that be where the prob. is coming from? e.g. type of packer.
BFN
Reece.
