OUCH! Can you imagine the pain that would cause in Europe Z2? Have you
really ¨thought that through?
Lets go back to basic nodelist format. There's a hard limit to the number
of 2 ¨digit assignments for RC's. 01-09 are not used (reserved for special
needs) ¨and i think we top out generally with 10 per zone though Z2 has
more than 10 ¨assigned (perhaps reuse of other zones sets not otherwise
needed).
Even at RC10-99, you cant get 100 nodes per region for your area without
taking ¨away the rest of us out of our hobby. You'd need 30-40 RC slots
just for R50.
Yes, we all know you are bigger. We aint dumb.
Now look from another angle. I'm going to demize Z6 when i get back in
port ¨come high summer. Thats because even though having more voices on
the ZCC is ¨important, I have reached the 'voice of one' level. This is
NOT to Ward's ¨benefit at all as I seem to generally agree with him, but it
was a voice that ¨looked to more than just Z6 needs (as i hope all ZC's
do).
I've already had to disabuse a few folks that this means Z6 is no longer
¨reserved for Fidonet use. To use it for R50 when I am here, means it will
be a ¨scheduled reasonable shift not a splinter of all R50. To use it
after I am ¨gone, will be up to the ZCC. The 'vote/referendum' showed me
pretty clear that ¨R50 doesnt want to change as a group, just a small
portion of it and not ¨suffienct support in R50 alone to cause the people
there the problems that ¨*will* ensue.
