DD> Never had that problem with the Magellan - or the built-in GPS
DD> in the Beemer
Mine is a Magellan. I am pleased by how often it gets updated. When
I was driving from Yellowknife to Whistler B.C one summer there were
three main routes from Peace River onwards to choose from. The GPS kept on
recommending the longest route which was 2 hours longer than one of
the secondary routes. The machine kept insisting it was 3 hours
shorter. I turned it off and took what I thought was the shortest
and quickest route. It turns out that Magellan knew and I didn't that
my chosen route had all kinds of road construction that summer with
lots of long stretches that were one lane only and you had to wait
for the lane to clear and have a pilot car lead you through. The 100
mile construction zone took over 5 hours to get through.
That was the same trip that we ate at the Indian place right beside
the Mexican place on the return trip.
