-> You probably don't once they've started. The way to avoid (but you
-> can never TOTALLY prevent) stall vices is turnout and more turnout
-> and more work. Pawing, weaving, wood chewing, etc. are all the end
-> result of boredom.
Well he has a very low threshold of boredome. He has a jug with rocks
and another with a few bits of dried apples and alfalfa pellets in it.
The second one is his favorite till he either gets the contents out or
tear a hole in it. He had an apple but he broke it. He also has a
orange traffic cone and had a ball. The dogs kept stealing that. So
I guess I'm stuck with him pawing in his stall.
-> grooming and working time, etc. Even then, there's no guarantee they
-> won't develop a bad habit of some kind. Some horses do, some don't.
-> Fiddle has a bunch (g), and Shiloh has none.....go figure! Fiddle's
-> and Arab and Shiloh's an Appyl....might be a clue in there somewhere
-> (VBG).
Hmmmm? Imbri doesn't have any either and shes an appy, Smokey is a QH
and only has a couple and the Arab across from Smokey is a bad habit.
I'm convinced that they teach each other their bad habits when we're not
watching but I've noticed that they never teach each other their
good habits.
