I notice that some FTP servers "lock" when they go into PASV "passive
voice" mode, and do not send a file list, accept commands, or anything
else, perhaps retuning to a simulateous "data channel" that isn't there?
I have seen some FTP's do a RETR file retrieve and old ones do an FGET.
There definitely appears to be at least two "flavors" of FTP out there!
Some boards run two flavors of FTP server on different sevice ports
even! (Hmm... I wonder if you could use Telnet to "telnet in" on the
FTP port, login, toggle PASV, then logout, i.e. create a PASV "telnet
toggle script". I wonder if that might help. Then you could issue
active commands without the server locking up on you?)
