From which type of network? I've had the best luck with the MS lan
requestor, mixed results with IBM's DLR, and piss-poor luck with Novell
Suckware.
I've had the best luck with MSC 6's
_dos_open("\\\\server\\pipe\\name",...), _dos_read() and
_dos_write().
The trickiest part is getting the pipe into a non-blocking mode. You've
got to find the library (for your requestor) that gives you the code for
DosSetNmPHandState(). This may not be a problem for your BBS semphore
application, since you simply want to open, write and close.
