But, when I first freq-ed them that had different dates - is there some
reason you recreated them on 23/1/97 from the master file?

I have noticed that the following month exists (in FILES) with a 1k size
for some time before the end of the current month. So does this mean
that (yy)(nn) is complete whenever (yy)(nn+1) is greater than 1k? IOW,
(yy)(nn) will never change again, even though it might, as has happened
as noted above, change its creation date?
